This course is designed especially for youth ages 9-14 and is run out of the Wild Bear Center for Nature Discovery in Nederland, Colorado. Classes are scheduled for 9AM-3PM once a week from the beginning of the summer. Whether they are learning about conservation, fly tying, casting, bugs, or reeling in a big one on our nearby fishing preserve, it will be fun and informative as kids get hooked on fly fishing. The Overnight Camp is the ultimate fly
fishing and outdoor experience
for boys and girls ages 9-14.
Participants spend two days and one night
at one of our exclusive private fly fishing
properties. They receive an in-depth look
at fishing, while enjoying a full outdoor
experience. Fishing, hiking, campfire
building and nature exploration are just a
few of the activities.
Lunch and dinner are provided on the first
day; breakfast and lunch are provided on
the second day.
Tents and cots are provided.
Participants will meet at Wild Bear and be
transported to our private fishing preserve.
The camp begins at 8:00am Thursday
morning and ends back at Wild Bear at
3:30pm on Friday afternoon.
Transportation is available between Boulder and

This engaging and educational class includes instruction on all the fundamentals of fly fishing, including equipment, tools, casting, knot tying, fish identification, fly tying and more. Participating students will enjoy learning from the Pro's in a kid friendly environment which in most cases is their own school building. Some classes will even include a rod/reel combo from Scientific Anglers specifically designed to help beginners learn the in's and out's of fly casting. Family fishing camps are a great outdoor bonding experience for the entire family, designed to educate parents on fundamental fishing basics to share with their kids at one of our exclusive private fishing preserves.
